Design Outlook
Visual Identity • Creative Direction • Custom Illustration
Design Outlook 2022 launched in Melbourne as a groundbreaking celebration of design, championing diversity, sustainability, accessibility, and value. Positioned as more than a festival, it sparked a movement to reshape Australia’s design landscape. Over three days, global and local leaders convened for workshops, keynotes, and panel discussions, exploring design’s transformative potential to address societal challenges.
We developed the event’s branding and design, crafting a cohesive visual identity and immersive experience that reflected the festival’s vision and values.
Objectives
Establish a strong brand identity
Our objective was to develop a distinctive brand identity that resonated with the festival’s vision of advancing design thinking in Australia.
Create a seamless online experience
We aimed to design a user-friendly website that would serve as the primary informational hub for the festival and engage users interactively.
Extend the brand experience to event design
It was essential to ensure that the festival’s physical presence mirrored the online experience by extending the visual language into all aspects of event design.
Outcomes
Enhanced brand engagement
We designed a new website that significantly improved user engagement, reflected instrong ticket sales compared to industry averages. The site prominently featured the brand identity we created, with its unique logo, color palette, and design motifs. Features like an interactive agenda, speaker bios, and integrated social media feeds seamlessly aligned with the brand, maintaining high levels of user engagement.
Consistent event experience
Working closely with the event team we helped ensure cohesive branding across all aspects of the event, incorporating the distinctive brand identity we developed. From signage and program handouts to stage design and merchandise, every element reflected the unique visual language of the brand. Custom illustrations and motifs were featured throughout the venue, creating a visually stimulating environment that reinforced the festival’s identity and values.
